Proximity Avoidance System
The Proximity Avoidance System (PAS1000) is the culmination of many man-years of engineering effort on the part of EIQ. Focussed research and development initiatives gave rise to a new generation of system that caters for active proximity awareness within trackless and rail bound mining operations.
Motivation for this effort primarily stemmed from the requirement to establish effective means to mitigate the risks of mobile machinery accidents involving personnel, and to facilitate the tracking of personnel and assets in the mine. The PAS1000 provides redundancy by employing multiple distinct RF technologies. These improve the reliability of the system in different environments compared to systems which only employ a single technology.
